Here is an update on the work of the students in the portrait painting class held at the ArtsCenter on Mondays. This set was taken two weeks after the last set. Some of the students have finished their first portraits and moved on to another rendering of the model. Check back in two weeks to see more!

A nearly completed portrait with the model sitting in the background.

Two different interpretations of the same person. Each student has a different angle of view. The student of the portrait in the foreground sees the model at a straigher angle than the student painting the portrait in the background. This difference also results in sublter differences than simply body position, including the necessity of different positions for shadow and highlight.

A completed portrait waits to be taken home.

The artist of the completed portrait above begins work on a second portrait. Several of the students first draw the subject and then begins to paint.
