Photographer Alex Forsyth took this shot of Will McFarlane, local guitar hero at the kickoff for the 7th Annual American Roots Series on January 10th at the ArtsCenter. Alex has been a good friend to the ArtsCenter’s photoblog contributing several of our posts.  An exhibition of his work entitled Singers and Guitar Slingers will run later this year.

The American Roots Series takes place at the ArtsCenter each January to June bringing “visionaries and pioneers of music nurtured on American soil and known throughout the world.  From blues, singer-songwriter, and bluegrass to old-time, country and soul the series features local and national artists.” Check out the link above for a full list of artists and show dates. Also find details for a chance to enter a raffle to win a pair of tickets to every remaining show in the series.
