Blog Updates and Joe Romeo

Hello again!

Sorry for the lack of recent updates. Things have been a little crazy with the end of the semester. But the ArtsCenter Photoblog is now back and ready to keep you updated on the ArtsCenter all summer. My partner in crime, Lisa, has left us for the summer, so I will be going it alone. Maybe at some point we can convince her to give us an update on what she is doing this summer. In the meantime, since there is only one of me, I would love reader help in maintaining the blog. So if you take pictures at ArtsCenter related events, send them in!

And now to the interesting stuff. Last Thursday was the kick off to the 5:40 concert series. A partnership between East 54 and the ArtsCenter, the 5:40 concert series will showcase a local band every other Thursday throughout the summer. Joe Romeo kicked off the series on a gorgeous evening. Check below for some photos courtesy of Jed Gammon. Thanks Jed! The next show in the series will be the Jonathan Byrd Band. The show is Thursday, June 3 at…I bet you can guess this…5:40pm.

Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players

Last month, Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players brought their high energy concert to the ArtsCenter.  Justin and his band played songs about the sun, siblings, Willy the Whale and crossing guards.  The audience really got into the show, and the floor in front of the stage quickly turned into a dance floor. Check below for some photos, and as always, don’t forget to click on more!

The show finished up The ArtsCenter’s 4th annual Celtic Concert Series. Check back next year for more Irish music! More photos after the page jump–click “more.”

Irish supergroup Patrick Street was here Sunday, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! The date was one of their four US shows and part of the 4th annual Celtic Concert Series at The ArtsCenter. Fan and photographer (fantographer?) Daniel Coston was in the audience and was kind enough to send us some of his photos–check ’em out!
