The ArtsCenter Photoblog

Interesting Link Wednesday

Wednesdays are pretty slow days at the ArtsCenter, so I’m going to start linking to the outside world of photography.

This week’s link is a slideshow. Last semester in my photojournalism class, we used to look at’s Photos of the Week in almost every class. I saw this slideshow covering the last decade in 59 images yesterday, and it hit me pretty hard.  I think it shows the huge scope of photojournalism, from the cutesy pictures of animals and kids (and nuns!) to images of war zones and natural disasters. It’s intense.

Some of the images are really graphic (MSNBC tells you which ones), so be warned.

Tomorrow: Lyndsay covers the Great Big Gone outdoor concert.

  1. No wonder the Art Center needs money; the web site doesn’t provide a functioning place to join and pay a membership fee. In the last field there is a “Join us” bar. Clicking that gets a registration form that after requiring entry of much information, asks for which lists one choses for e-mail topics. fill that out then click on “Submit” and no matter how you fill it out, it says no lists were selected [NOT TRUE!]and directs the eager -to-be-a member to go back, whereupon all is erased and the unwary can start over, but with a repeat of the entire useless endeavor…THANKS

    • Thanks for the feedback. We are in the process of re-developing the website, and are fixing as many items as we can now. This will be addressed with our webmaster ASAP. I appreciate your letting us know.
